All moved in!!

This will be the final update for this blog as we have all moved in and been operating from our new larger premises for the last 3 weeks. There have been a few teething problems like where to buy the milk and sugar from, but we’ve handily discovered that the Caterfood depot next door can supply 5kg bags of sugar and 1100 teabags at a time! The next challenge facing us is getting ‘Le Petit Cafe’ machine plumbed in and working. Everyone is eagerly awaiting their first Moccachino from this Italian imported machine, why its got a french name I don’t know.

Its worth thanking the people involved in the project that really made a difference, in particular Stephen Havill for his concept and determination to get the project finished and setting the high standards that we had to meet. Thanks also goes to Steve, Russell, Kim and Kieran for getting the guts of the work done. Terry and Carl for showing us how rapid racking does what it says. Chris Jones Roofing for keeping us dry. Vic Maskell for his guidance and design work. John and SD Fire Alarms for the security and fire alarms systems. Special thanks goes also to Neil for making me update this blog and Daniel for visiting.

Reception

Here’s the photo I was promising to give an idea of what reception now looks like. The floor is now complete and the stairs have been lined with the same material. The reception desk is also now complete and has turned out to be a lot bigger than previously expected.

Dates!!!

Ok so to announce the official move date is a bit dangerous but I’m confident we’ll get it done.
SD Fire Alarms will be moving in on the 22nd of February and will begin operating there on the 25th!
That gives us at least the weekend to make sure everything is working. Phones, computers, post, supplies etc

Reception Taking Shape

Well finally the reception desk is in place and just a few parts have been taken away for a bit of precision cutting. A couple of doors upstairs and down are being shaved so they actually fit, Steve and Kim are planning a plasterboarding assault on the rear stair well for a bit of cosmetic enhancement.

Stores Tidy Up

After a lull in the updates to the blog we’ve now reached a point where we are nealry ready to start moving in!!! The cleaners are coming in to give everything a “deep clean” to get rid of all the dust thats accumulated after our sorry vacuum cleaner failed in this mission.

The racking for the stores is now in place and ready for goods to be moved in once some final security measures have been installed.
